Independent Professional Body Forum (IPBF) – WhatsApp Group Rules
Purpose
This group serves as a communication and collaboration space for members and associates of the Independent Professional Body Forum (IPBF) to share updates, insights, and discussions aligned with the Forum’s mission of strengthening professional bodies and associations and advancing ethical, accountable governance across sectors.
1. Conduct and Respect
- Stay on topic: Discussions should relate to professional body matters, governance, regulation, policy, or other issues relevant to IPBF’s objectives.
- Respectful engagement: Maintain professionalism and courtesy at all times. Avoid personal remarks, discriminatory comments, or inflammatory language.
- Cultural awareness: Be mindful of diverse backgrounds and viewpoints among members.
- No self-promotion: Do not post marketing material, adverts, or solicitations unless pre-approved by the group administrator or relevant working group lead.
2. Communication Etiquette
- Avoid clutter: Keep messages concise and relevant. Combine multiple points into one message where possible.
- One-on-one matters: Direct personal or bilateral discussions to private messages.
- Timing: Avoid posting between 20h00 and 07h00 unless urgent or time-sensitive.
- No spam: Refrain from sending repetitive, unrelated, or excessive content.
- No political or religious debates: These topics are outside the scope of IPBF’s work and may cause unnecessary conflict.
3. Content Responsibility
- Verify before sharing: Ensure all shared information is accurate and credible.
- Appropriate sharing: Only circulate official or public IPBF information. Avoid forwarding unrelated content, chain messages, or memes.
- No expectation of immediate response: Allow reasonable time for members to reply. Participation is voluntary unless a direct response is requested.
4. Privacy and Governance
- Confidentiality: Treat all discussions as private and for group members only, unless clearly stated otherwise.
- Respect privacy: Do not share members’ contact details, screenshots, or photos without consent.
- Consent for addition: Members must consent before being added to the group.
- Report concerns: Direct any inappropriate messages or behaviour to an administrator privately rather than engaging publicly.
5. Administration
